If you don’t think you need to employ a digital agency, read this. According to the BBC, £33 billion was spent by UK consumers online in 2009. And you can hardly blame them: the internet has opened the doors to convenient shopping for anything from food to computers from the comfort of our own homes. All the same, £33 billion’s a pretty hefty amount. What’s your company doing to earn itself a piece of that pie.

The whole globe’s going digital. The high street may as well be online now. The good news is the massive opportunity that online retail is offering to businesses. This is especially true for smaller companies who might not have the high street presence they crave. Online, everyone’s equal. Or at least everyone has the potential to be. Just ask your digital agency! This means that even the smallest company can reach new customers easily providing their digital strategy’s good.

Unfortunately, too many smaller companies have fallen into the trap of neglecting their digital strategy. At this point it is worth mentioning that owning a website does not constitute a digital strategy. Do you see any point in owning a website that doesn’t get updated, isn’t easy to use and is even harder to find.

For small companies, the investment of a digital agency can be massive. But it’s always worth investing in a good digital agency, because the return on your investment is only ever limited to demand for whatever goods or services you sell.

It can seem scary to allow a digital agency to manage everything about your web strategy. But you must think of your digital strategy like a well-oiled machine with many component parts, like web design, web development, search engine optimisation, e-mail marketing, PPC and social media, amongst others. Allowing just one of these parts to fail could stall the entire machine. If you were to try to find someone to manage each component of the machine in-house, you’d spend a lot of money and time and still struggle. It’s lucky then that your digital agency has the talent to manage all of this under one roof. If just one company could build you a user-friendly website that’s as attractive to the human eye as it is the Google robots that scan it then provide you with the tools to keep it updated easily and then improve the site’s visibility and that of your brand using their web marketing expertise, you’d jump at the chance to hire them, wouldn’t you? That’s why you need a digital agency.
